Breaking

Prolly noticed by now I haven't been around much. I'm gunna be off the game for a while, my enjoyment hasn't been great since I got my new pc, which brought with it one of the new nvidia graphics cards, which just so happens to run FFXI very poorly, you've prolly heard me moan about this.

I could take it at first but i'm just about at my witts end of studdering about everywhere. On the upside the card runs newer games flawlessly, so i'm gunna take time away to play them (already finished Starcraft 2).

nvidia says theres a fix on the way with the next driver update, so fingers crossed it wont be too far away, and if your wondering wtf i'm talking about, read this -> http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=166243&st=260

Sorry if this inconveniences anyone, I know we had alot of stuff we were working though (CoP, TOAU, Salvage), I have no problem being left behind, I really can't just play through the lag anymore, it's lessening the fun for me, and I haven't been 'up' for much fun lately. May log in for a chat now and then, there no slowdown if I confine myself to my MH.

Hopefully back soon, depending on the fix, could be a week could be a little longer, just hope it works when it comes.

i can understand that, im trying to fix the issue i have with my internet company where it keeps kicking me off just for a second. its ok when im on the net but with ff i have to log all the way back in and its pretty bad when i have to do it almost hourly sometimes, or when it happens when im in a party or when i come back dead. im playing monster hunter tri for wii right now but i should be back on ff come september, just got to finish up a few more issues at hand..

Word on the nvidia forum is a beta version of the new drivers containing the fix will be out next wednesday.

The waiting game continues.

According to a techy over at the nvidia forums, they were almost ready to go up, but a regression occured and they've pushed the release back again. The guy wont even put up an ETA now for fear of being wrong again.

Also super lame the open beta of FFXIV has been delayed

dude just stuff your old card in from your old pc i know its annoying but better than not playing FF

I'm coming on tomorrow. I'll have to live with lag for a while I aint being left behind after the update.

Old card out of the question as i'm on FFXIV beta, STO and APB aswell.

NVidia just dicking around, they now said its gunna be at least another 10 days.

Even though i'm back anyway, the beta's for the new drivers were leaked last night.

Peeps are reporting they are working

The leaked drivers have made a big difference, I now get capped fps in most areas, its still lowish in the likes of WG and such, but the not as much lag as there was before, much more playable.

Pretty good in aby too, getting around 20 fps constant, which is way better to my 10 or so before. No longer looks like everything is in slow motion.

Hopefully the full relrease will be even better. Either way, i'm back for good.
